Designed on the Coast
I grew up in the charming seaside town of Southwold in Suffolk with not much to do other than skateboard or play music & I was pretty bad at skateboarding.
Many of us started playing in bands & doing little shows around where we lived. It was these bands/friendships that would later take us all over the UK & Europe in smelly old vans playing to anyone that would listen.
Digital media was on the rise, music was becoming more accessible & fans now expected to see & consume much more online. We could all feel the impending impact that social media was about to have on the music industry. It was an exciting time to be in a band.
Having previously trained towards a career in art & studied website design at music college. I grabbed a beat up old Windows laptop & started to design simple websites, create cool social content & hacked MySpace pages for my band, then my mate's band, then my mate's mate's band & then the bands I grew up listening too! Within two years I was the top returned listing in Google for the search term 'MySpace Design' & so began 'Richie Design'.
Since 2007 I have been lucky enough to work & hone my design skills with some awesome brands, bands & business of all sizes, from a wide variety of industries from all over the world. I have seen social media evolve; witnessed platforms take off & watched as some disappear into total obscurity. Living & breathing social media & digital design for so long has given me a very rounded experience which has proved itself invaluable to my business time & time again.
These days if i'm not in the office designing badass websites or marketing the latest thing on social media I can normally be found travelling around the country with my wife & son in our campervan, playing or watching a gig somewhere or simply hanging out in my favourite town sinking a couple of Adnams.
